FRANÇOIS VOYER VSOP 40%
From Verrières with Love (Part I.)
A 6yo+ G.C from Verrières. Here is the François Voyer VSOP!
Colour: Pale gold, green lights. Irregular medium tears
Nose: Quite a fruity nose, mainly on tangerine marmalade. Slightly honeyed. A tad of peppery notes in the background. A tad of sugary scents, especially on orange zest caramel.
Palate: Oily texture, nice mix of acidity and bitterness at first. Tangerine, orange juice. Distinct youngness. It ends a bit quickly on lime juice. Shy bitter chocolate note in the aftertaste.
Last Notes: More freshness with air. Tannins. A tad of nutty scents. Back on the palate, you find a bit of cocoa powder. Still a lot of acidity. Very unbalanced. A so-so mix of chocolate notes and walnut oil in the aftertaste. Reminiscence of spicy notes too. Okay-ish VSOP.
I have to admit that this François Voyer VSOP is quite a deception for me. Far from the level of the Napoléon in my humble opinion.
My very subjective note: 79+/100
