FRANCOIS VOYER XO GOLD 40%
From Verrières with Love (Part III.)
Colour: Amber, gold lights. Regular medium tears.
Nose: Candied citruses and licorice sweets at first. Quite focused on citruses. You also get some lemongrass and verbena. Brand new wood and linseed oil scents. Nutty notes in the background, mainly on walnuts.
Palate: Sweet texture. A full bowl of raisins and fresh figs at first, nicely underlined by acacia honey tones. You find back nutty notes, this time on roasted hazelnuts and chestnut oil.
Last Notes: A tad of fermented notes, especially on bread dough with more air. A few roasted sesame seeds scent too. Hints of raisins in the background. Back on the palate, you get fruity aromas, mostly on tinned pears and honeyed apricots. Then you had an opulent wood influence on walnut oil and menthol. It ends on shy caramelized apple notes.
Correct G.C but it feels like 2/4 more degrees should be perfect for this one.
My very subjective note: 86/100
