HENNESSY FINE DE COGNAC 40%
Hennessy’s Finest?
This one is a blend of all the crus and an assemblage of 60 different eaux-de-vie. This Hennessy Fine de Cognac is also supposed to be a VSOP (4yo minimum). Let’s see how it tastes!
Colour: Pale gold, gold lights. Small irregular tears.
Nose: Less fruity than the VSOP. More cardboard-y. Some caramel scents. Shy cocoa powder smells too. Very sugary. What a poor nose.
Palate: Watery texture. Very light. Hints of fruits, especially plums. Cider apple. Very acidic. Yuck.
Last Notes: Light apricots scents with more air. A bit honeyed. Still cardboard-y. Back on the palate, it’s still very acidic. Is this cognac? I’ve never tried but I can’t even imagine how this Hennessy Fine de Cognac could be tasty in a cocktail. It’s way under the level of the VS or the VSOP.
My very subjective note: 61/100
